Start with somebody else's research, not ours

If you have been told hemp is a fad with nothing behind it, the fastest correction does not come from us.

A CBD number on a label tells you nothing

You would not breed to a dog whose pedigree you could not see. The same question applies here, and almost nobody in this category will answer it.

An oil is not defined by its milligram count. It is defined by six decisions made before it reaches the bottle — and most brands cannot tell you a single one of them, because they bought whatever bulk extract was cheapest that season.

We control all six because we are vertically integrated — we breed it, grow it, and formulate it ourselves under human-grade standards, and every batch is third-party tested with the certificate of analysis published. That is not a marketing position. It is the only reason we were able to stand behind a clinical trial at all.

Getting it right

The practical part, since the label will not tell you.

• Form. Oils are measurable and adjustable by the drop. Treats are easier at a show and impossible to spill in a grooming bag. Both deliver the same full-spectrum oil.
• Amount. Roughly 2 mg per kg twice daily is the published neighbourhood. Start lower than that and work up.
• Give it with food. Cannabinoids are fat-soluble; an empty stomach wastes most of it.
• Hold a serving one to two weeks before judging it. The most common mistake is too little for too short a time.
• Too much looks like drowsiness or loose stool. Both pass on their own, and both mean step the amount back down.
• Bloodwork before you start and again a month in, particularly for a dog already on medication — and talk to your veterinarian before you add hemp on top of anything they are already taking.

What we will not tell you

This readership checks things, so here is the part most of this category leaves out.

• We will not tell you hemp treats anything. It does not. It is a daily supplement that sits alongside veterinary care, weight management and sensible exercise — never instead of them.
• We will not tell you the evidence is settled. The canine research is a small number of small trials. Joint comfort is where it is strongest, and even there it is five studies. One of them, run at Colorado State on the most objective measures of the lot, found nothing at all. We publish that one too.
• We will not tell you every dog responds. Two of the thirty-two in our own trial did not.
• We will not tell you liver enzymes are a non-issue. Three of the five published canine trials reported elevations, ours among them. That is why we say bloodwork.

If you want the industry's version instead, it is available everywhere and it is free. We would rather be judged on the evidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a wholesale or kennel account program?
No. We are direct-to-consumer — no minimums, no application, no reseller agreement. The Veterans Program is a research-style field follow-up, not a trade account, and it costs you nothing.

Will I be asked to post about it?
No. You are asked for three five-minute check-ins and nothing else, and if you never say a public word the program runs exactly the same. That said — if you do want to share it, a post, a photo or a short video is genuinely welcome, and people often do once they have seen a result for themselves. The difference matters to us: welcome is not the same as expected, and nothing you get is conditional on it.

What is actually in the bottle?
Full-spectrum hemp extract from a single strain-specific cultivar we bred and grew ourselves in Colorado, in a food-grade carrier oil. Never isolate, never imported extract, nothing sourced from overseas. Every batch is third-party tested and the certificate of analysis is published on the site before the batch ships.

How much do I give a dog?
Roughly 2 mg per kilogram twice daily is the published range, but start lower and build up over a week or two. Give it with food, because cannabinoids are fat-soluble. Our serving guide works from body weight and converts milligrams into drops for the exact bottle you own.

How long before I know whether it is working?
Joint comfort is cumulative rather than a dose you give on a bad day. Hold a serving one to two weeks before judging it, and give the whole approach four to eight weeks. Stopping at day ten because nothing obvious changed is the most common way a plan gets abandoned too early.

My dog is already on medication. Is that a problem?
It is a conversation to have with your veterinarian before you start, not after. Hemp can change how quickly the body clears other drugs. We recommend bloodwork before starting and again a month in for any dog on an existing prescription, and we cover the published safety findings — including the liver-enzyme data from our own trial — in full.

Do veterinarians recommend it?
Yes, including the veterinary pain specialist who oversaw our canine trial, who added it to her own hospital pharmacy afterwards. We would rather you asked your own vet than took our word for it, and we will send them the published paper if that helps.

Can I just buy it instead?
Yes, and you do not need to go through the program to do it. Everything is on the site at the same price it has always been, and the serving guide works from body weight. The program exists because we want the field data, not because it is the only way in.

What if it does nothing for my dog?
Then we want to hear that, and it is genuinely useful to us. Two of the thirty-two dogs in our trial did not respond. A brand that only collects the good answers does not learn anything and neither do you.
